The Granite Grind Track heads south from the main visitor car park. From the car park, you can see the crushed rock walking track to the summit of Lake Mountain. Granite Grind starts just to the right of this.

Unfortunately, the camera batteries died while up there so I only have photos heading up to the summit and lookout areas. This is a shame because the downhill section between Sherlock lookout and the Snowy Hill car park is great fun with a number of berms being established, minor jumps and drop offs.

Granite Grind takes advantage of the granite outcrops to provide obstacles for the trail. The top section of the trail between Lake Mountain Summit and Sherlock Lookout has spectacular views out over the Marysville region.

Above, walking track on left and marker for start of Granite Grind. Trail in first section is not very pronounced with some bushfire damage along way.

Intersection with Junction Track - head left into the 4X area.

Trail finally rejoins walking trail to summit area of Lake Mountain. Views from summit below. There is a picnic table with views near Sherlock's Lookout.

Unfortunately the camera batteries packed up at this point - there is a great section downhill from the summit ahead with jumps, berms, etc.
